3 Reasons to Start Laser Hair Removal in January

While any time is a fantastic time for Laser Hair Removal, the top 3 reasons why January is the PERFECT time for this fantastic procedure.
1. You’ll be baby smooth just in time for swimsuit season!
For the best results for Laser Hair Removal for any area, we recommend 6 treatments in order to catch the growth stages of the hair follicle. Each session will help reduce the hair growth 15 to 20%!  We all know that hair grows at different rates so by the time your sixth treatment is done, you’ll be baby smooth just in time for summer!
2. Tanning interferes with any sort of Laser Treatment.
During the winter months, you are not out in the sun as much as you are in the summer.  With any laser treatment, any sort of tan (including spray tans), sunburn or sun exposure can cause hyperpigmentation and could possibly burn your skin.
3. It reduces shaving!
Let’s face it, this is one of the things we all wish we didn’t have to do.  Since you’re wearing long pants and shirts during the winter months, you can skip some days shaving because of the reduction in hair removal with each session.  How great is that?
Chic Esthetiq Med Spa & Laser is revolutionizing approach to laser hair removal with our advanced Elite MPX system.  We are the only business in Pearland offering multiple systems that are considered Gold Standard -- including laser hair reduction.  Our laser usually only requires 6 treatments.  Most small to medium areas can be treated 20 minutes or less. Larger areas take 30 to 45 minutes.  Call for a free consultation today -- 713-909-3088.

Do I really need 6 laser hair removal treatments?

"I don't have much hair, do I really need so many treatments?"

"My hair doesn't grow very fast, can I just start with three treatments?"

We get these questions all the time and our answer is that six laser hair removal treatments is a great place to start, but in some cases you may need a couple more.  Very rarely will you need less than six.  The answer is quite simple, here's why:

Hair grows in several phases (anagen, telogen, catagen) and a laser can only affect the currently active growing hair follicles (anagen). This is why several sessions are needed to kill hair in all phases of growth.

We often have patient's that still decide they would like to "see how it goes" and would prefer not to commit to a full package of six treatments.  Chic Esthetiq Med Spa & Laser in Pearland offers a convenient option for those that aren't quite sure how many treatments they would like.  First, we will refund unused treatments in a package. Second, our membership allows you to pick the monthly service that you want.  If you are happy with your laser hair removal after only three treatments, you can simply pick another body part or pick another service such as tattoo removal, Botox, facials and more.

For a free consultation to find out more about how it works, call us today at 713-909-3088 or visit our convenient Pearland location in the Pearland Town Center.

Why Winter is the Best Time for Laser Hair Removal

Why are Fall and winter months a great time for laser procedures?
Most laser treatments require you to avoid the sun or very careful about the sun for a month or two after treatment. The best times for laser treatments are fall, winter and early spring when the sun’s UVA rays are at their lowest.
How does exposure to the sun affect these procedures?
There are a couple of reasons to avoid sun exposure with laser treatments:
1.    Effectiveness  Laser hair removal requires light skin and dark hair for the most effective results. The laser targets the pigment in the hair and having skin with more pigment negatively impacts the effectiveness of the laser.
2.    Increased sensitivity  Sun exposure following a laser procedure will cause your skin to darken, freckle or become photo-damaged. Excess sun exposure after a laser procedure could cause hyperpigmentation.

3 Causes For Facial Hair Growth in Women

Women are used to coping with and managing hair growth on parts of the body such as legs, underarms, and bikini line. However, most women might find it alarming to see thick or dark hair growth on their face. Laser hair removal is an ideal way to get rid of unwanted and noticeable facial hair. Continue reading to find out more about what causes facial hair growth in women and what can be done to eliminate it.

Hormonal Imbalances The excessive production of one hormone or the lack of another can quickly lead to facial hair growth. In particular, too much testosterone can make it difficult for some women to avoid unwanted facial hair growth. In many cases, this imbalance of hormones is due to glandular dysfunction that a proper diagnosis and treatment may be able to correct. Eliminating the unwanted hair using laser hair removal and then treating the glandular dysfunction may stop the recurrence of facial hair growth.

Genes
If a physician determines that a patient does not seem to have any medical issues that could be contributing to her hair growth, she may need to look to her own family for answers as to why she has facial hair. DNA passed down from one generation to the next may make the likelihood of facial hair high among some women. Heredity can be a difficult hurdle to overcome, but laser hair removal is often the solution for women with genes that cause excessive hair growth.

Aging Process
For some women, facial hair simply begins to grow as part of the aging process. Women affected by facial hair growth in their golden years may find relief and regain self-confidence after undergoing laser hair removal to get rid of their new hair growth.
